Highest Paid Actors In The World 2020 Forbes List

Forbes’s list of the world’s highest paid actors has been revealed, listing Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson highest-paid actor in the world 2020. The action star is the No. 1 highest-paid actor on Forbes’ annual list, for the 2nd years in a row.

Hollywood actors are increasingly making more and more money. Forbes annual Celebrity 100 is out. This year’s list featured actors from other countries.

Salaries for the world’s highest paid film actors currently range from US$ 40–70 million, but an actor can earn substantially more by deferring all or part of their salary against a percentage of the film’s gross, known within the industry as a “profit participation” deal.

Highlighting the fact that a gender pay gap is still a Hollywood reality, despite being top of the Highest paid actress’ list, Johansson would only come in at eighth with her earnings of $56 million (Dh206m), which would sit her behind Bradley Cooper and Adam Sandler, who each made $57m.

The men’s top Ten is made up of Dwayne Johnson ($87.4m), Ryan Reynolds ($71.5 million), Akshay Kumar ($48.5m) and Jackie Chan ($40m).

Forbes‘ payday estimates reflect earnings between June 1, 2019, and June 1, 2020. The list of highest-paid female actors, which Scarlett Johansson led with $56 million last year, will be out next month.

As per Forbes’ estimates, these are the top 10 highest paid actors of 2020.

1. Dwayne Johnson

Rock born May 2, 1972, also known by his ring name the Rock, is an American-Canadian actor, producer, businessman, retired professional wrestler.

His films have grossed over $3.5 billion in North America and over $10.5 billion worldwide, making him one of the highest-grossing actors of all time.

The Rock tops the list for the second year in a row, thanks to a $23.5 million check from Netflix for upcoming film Red Notice and his successful Under Armour line, Project Rock.

Johnson married Dany Garcia on May 3, 1997. Their daughter Simone was born on August 14, 2001. On June 1, 2007, they announced they were splitting up amicably. Johnson then began dating Lauren Hashian, daughter of Boston drummer Sib Hashian. They first met in 2006 while Johnson was filming The Game Plan. Hashian and Johnson were married on August 18, 2019, in Hawaii. They have two children.

2. Ryan Reynolds

Forbes reports that Reynolds made more than $20 million for each of his recent Netflix films, “Six Underground” and “Red Notice.” It’s no wonder he offered a huge reward for a lost teddy bear.

Ryan Reynolds born October 23, 1976, is a Canadian actor, film producer, and entrepreneur. He began his career starring in the Canadian teen soap opera Hillside (1991–1993) and had minor roles before landing the lead role on the sitcom Two Guys and a Girl between 1998 and 2001.

He was married to actress Scarlett Johansson from 2008 to 2011 and since 2012, has been married to actress Blake Lively, with whom he has three daughters.

Diesel still got a “Fast & Furious” pay day – for producing Netflix series “Fast & Furious Spy Racers” – but the next film, “F9,” was moved to next year.

6. Akshay Kumar

The Bollywood star has plenty of endorsement deals and is also starring in an Amazon Prime series called “The End.” He also made last year’s list.

Kumar was born in Amritsar, Punjab, India, to Hari Om Bhatia and Aruna Bhatia in a Punjabi family. His father was an army officer. From a young age, Kumar was very interested in sports. His father too enjoyed wrestling. He lived and grew up in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk and later he moved to Bombay (present-day Mumbai) when his father left Army to become an accountant with UNICEF. Soon, his sister was born and the family lived in Koliwada, a Punjabi dominated area of Central Bombay.

He was the first Bollywood actor whose films’ domestic net lifetime collections crossed ₹20 billion (US$280 million) by 2013, and ₹30 billion (US$420 million) by 2016.

7. Lin-Manuel Miranda

Forbes reports that much of Miranda’s earnings come from Disney buying the rights to his Broadway production of “Hamilton,” which is now streaming on Disney Plus. The movie adaptation of his Broadway show “In the Heights” is out next year.

Lin-Manuel Miranda born January 16, 1980, is an American composer, lyricist, actor, singer, rapper, producer, and playwright.

He created and starred in the Broadway musicals In the Heights and Hamilton. His awards include a Pulitzer Prize, three Tony Awards, three Grammy Awards, an Emmy Award, a MacArthur Fellowship, and a Kennedy Center Honor in 2018.

8. Will Smith

Trey appeared in his father’s music video for the 1998 single “Just the Two of Us”. He also acted in two episodes of the sitcom All of Us and has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and the David Blaine: Real or Magic TV special.

Smith married actress Jada Koren Pinkett in 1997. They met when Jada auditioned for a role as Smith’s character’s girlfriend on the ’90s sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

He is known in the cinematic world for his slapstick acrobatic fighting style, comic timing, use of improvised weapons, and innovative stunts, which he typically performs himself. The movie legend had endorsements, licensing deals, and five movies in the past year. 

10. Adam Sandler

Adam Sandler born September 9, 1966, is an American actor, comedian, screenwriter, film producer, and singer. After becoming a Saturday Night Live cast member, he went on to star in many Hollywood feature films, which have combined to earn more than $2 billion at the box office.

Although he isn’t a box-office draw like the others on the list and his independent film “Uncut Gems” didn’t earn him a giant check, Sandler’s been successful on Netflix since signing a four-film deal for $250 million in 2014, Forbes reports. His film “Murder Mystery” was popular on the streamer this year.
