Synopsis

Bloodshot is an upcoming American film based on the Valiant Comics character, bloodshot. It is the first installment in a series of films set within a Valiant Comics shared cinematic universe.

After the assassination of Ray Garrison (Vin Diesel) and his wife, Ray is reborn by scientists and enhanced with nanotechnology, he became a superhuman, biotech killing machine, Bloodshot.

As Ray first trains with his fellow super-soldiers, he struggles in recalling anything from his previous life. Soon he remembers the man that killed him and his wife. He went for revenge, only to discover that there’s more to the conspiracy than he originally thought.

Sony Pictures, Original Film, and Valiant announced a five-picture deal in April 2015, to bring Valiant Comics’ superheroes to the cinema, including Bloodshot.

Chad Stahelski and David Leitch appoint directors, while Wadlow and Eric Heisserer were hired for Screenplay. Finally, Stahelski and Leitch passed on the project.

Dave Wilson announced as the director of the film, in March 2017 and Adam Cozad also contributed to the script.

In March 2015, Vin Diesel finalized to be the Bloodshot, in Bloodshot cast. Additional Bloodshot cast members were announced by May as, Sam Heughan, Michael Sheen, and Eiza González.

In June of the same year, Talulah Riley included in the Bloodshot cast for the role of bloodshot characters, Ray’s wife, Gina, and Alex Hernandez was hired to play the role of a member of scientist team, as Tibbs.

Later, Toby Kebbell and Johannes Haukur Johannesson were both casts for villainous roles, with Toby playing Axe.

Lamorne Morris also cast as a young scientist, Wilfred Wigans. In the same month, it was reported that Guy Pearce was in talks to replace Sheen, who had to exit the movie due to scheduling and family conflicts.

On August 6, 2018, principal photography started in Cape Town, South Africa, Prague and in the Czech Republic. Some of the filmings took place in Budapest, Hungary in the same month. It wrapped on officially on October 25, 2018.

The bloodshot trailer released on October 21, 2019.

The Bloodshot release date first announced to be February 21, 2020, but then Sony pictures finalized March 13, 2020, to be the Bloodshot release date.

Intended to launch cinematic universe of Valiant Comics superheroes, Bloodshot will be followed by four movies: a sequel, two films based on the book series Harbinger, and Harbinger Wars. The five films will be produced by Dinesh Shamdasani, Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe. These will be joint-productions of Valiant Entertainment, and Original Film involved.
