Joaquin Phoenix is amazing but Heath Ledger’s portrayal of Joker has gone down in history. Is it because the character is so hard to ace or is it because Heath was the perfect Joker, made only more poignant following his untimely death ahead of the film’s release?

As actor Joel Grey said at the 2009 Academy Awards ceremony before Heath was awarded best supporting actor his Joker left an ‘enduring legacy’.
Is this a deliberate move to make it as hard as possible to pin them against one another?
Perhaps I’m looking too much into things, letting my love of Heath’s Joker get in the way of anyone else having a crack. Perhaps it’s time to understand that Joaquin is merely heralding a new outing, using his amazing talent to bring depth to an already beloved character. Read More: Metro
