Biography

Scott Z. Burns was born in 1962. He is an American screenwriter, producer, and director. He is best known for his work in Side Effects and The Bourne Ultimatum. He was born in Minnesota and he completed his studies from University of Minnesota. He currently lives in Los Angeles. He has directed a number of films. He has written The Informant, Contagion. His most famous television series is Filthy Lucre. He also wrote a play in 2014 named The Library. He has received Variety’s Creative Impact in Screenwriting Award. Currently he is been working with Apple TV Plus. Apple TV Plus is nearing a series order for Extrapolations, a new climate change anthology from Scott Z. Burns. “Most of the storytelling around climate change has focused on the science and getting people to accept it,” said Burns. “Our aim with Extrapolations is to move beyond science and use drama, comedy, mystery and every other genre to allow us to consider how every aspect of our world is going to be changing in the years ahead”. Some of his work includes An Inconvenient Truth (Producer), Pu-239 ( Director, Screenwriter), The Bourne Ultimatum (Screenwriter), The Informant! and Contagion (Screenwriter), Side Effects and The Mercy (Screenwriter, Producer), The Report (Director, Screenwriter, Producer).
