Michael Carlyle Hall was born on 1st February 1971 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Michael C. Hall is American actor. He is famous for the titular character Dexter in Dexter and as David Fisher, in Six Feet Under.
He has appeared in different television series and films.
His mother, Janice is a mental health counselor. His father, William Carlyle Hall worked in a private company and died when Michael was 11 years old. He graduated from Ravenscroft School in Raleigh. He once said that he planned to become a lawyer but later admitted that he never actually intended to go to law school.
He started his career at an early age . He start acting and performed in What Love Is while in second grade at Ravenscroft School. When he was only in fifth grade he started his career as a theater actor.
He appeared in Macbeth and Cymbeline at the New York Shakespeare Festival, and in Timon of Athens and Henry V at The Public Theater. He sang the role of Paris Singer; this character’s songs and function in the play were transferred to the character Hollis Bessamer in the final version of the play.

On January 13, 2010, Hall’s agent confirmed that Hall was undergoing treatment for cancer. He received his Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award in 2010 while wearing a cap over his bald head, having lost his hair due to chemotherapy.
He was married to actress Amy Spanger from 2002 to 2007 and then to co-star Jennifer Carpenter from 2008 to 2011.
In September 2012, Hall began dating Morgan Macgregor, an associate editor at the Los Angeles Review of Books, and they married on February 29, 2016.
Hall and Morgan live in the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City.
