In 1985 she went to the theater in Rudolstadt for two years . This was followed by changing engagements as an assistant at the Rostock drama school and as an actress in the theater under the roof and in the Orphtheater in Berlin . As a director she worked at the puppet theater in Wismar.

She played one of the leading roles in the 2003 play Mendy – the Wusical by Helge Schneider .

Since 2004 Martina Eitner Acheampong has appeared in the TV series Stromberg in seasons one to three as Erika Burstedt . Her character in the series died in the episode Erika, which aired on April 30, 2007 .
