Lance Reddick is an American musician and actor.
Reddick was born on December 31, 1962, in Baltimore, Maryland and attended the Friends School of Baltimore. His parents are Dorothy Gee and Solomon Reddick. He studied music in his teens at the Peabody Preparatory Institute. Reddick also attended a summer program teaching music theory and composition at Walden School.
He moved to Boston, Massachusetts in the 1980s after attending Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester and enrolled in the Yale School of Drama in 1991.
He is famous for starring in TV series Fringe, as Phillip Broyles: The head of an FBI department and portrayed Detective Johnny Basil in Oz. Reddick played the role of Chief Irvin in Amazon’s Bosch. Lance starred in HBO series The Wire as Cedric Daniels. He also appeared in ABC’s Lost‘s multiple episodes, where he played Matthew Abaddon in the role of Charles Widmore’s employee.
Reddick’s debut album was Contemplations & Remembrances released in 2007.
At the time there was doubt whether Reddick could appear in both Fringe and Lost. However, Fringe‘s creator Abrams stated that Reddick would do episodes of Lost whenever required. Reddick appeared in the 2013 movie White House Down and starred/produced the YouTube web series DR0NE.
He performed as voice-over and provided likeness for video game Quantum Break, for character Martin Hatch, Sylens in Horizon Zero Dawn and appeared in the Destiny franchise as Commander Zavala.
In 2016, Reddick was cast in the post-apocalyptic horror film The Domestics. The film was released on June 28, 2018. He is also part of the new movie: Godzilla vs. Kong.
