Julian Bailey Dennison is an actor from New Zealand.
He was born ( October 26, 2002) and raised in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. Māori descent and member of the iwi (tribe) Ngāti Hauā and the Pokhara (canoe) Tainui, Dennison is the third one of four children. His twin brother is Christian.
Attended Naenae Primary School, Dennison debuted his career in film Shopping. He also won the New Zealand Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his debut film.
He starred in the Australian film Paper Planes (2015). Later he joined attended Hutt International Boys’ School in Upper Hutt.
Dennison played a role in an advertisement to discourage driving under the influence of drugs, for the NZ Transport Agency. This public service message was directed by Taika Waititi, who later cast Dennison in his film Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016) without an audition.
Hunt for the Wilderpeople was critically acclaimed and became New Zealand’s highest-grossing film to date. Dennison starred as Russell Collins in film Deadpool 2. Dennison was the first to be cast for 2020’s new Godzilla vs. Kong in a supporting role in June 2018.
He currently resides in Foxton, New Zealand.
